Maryland Man Arrested For Carrying Loaded Gun At LaGuardia

A man from Arundel County was busted with a loaded handgun over the weekend at LaGuardia Airport, authorities said.

The unidentified Odenton man's 9mm handgun was loaded with eight bullets when it was detected in his belongings in an X-ray at the security checkpoint Saturday, March 5, TSA said.

TSA officers immediately contacted Port Authority Police, who confiscated the gun and took the man into questioning before arresting him on a weapons offense.

The man also faces a federal fine for bringing the gun to an airport security checkpoint. Depending on the circumstances, these fines could stretch well into the thousands, the TSA reports.
